OLAS at Bell Multicultural High School

Washington, DC

WAVE has partnered with the DC Public Schools Office of Bilingual Education to create OLAS, which means “waves” in Spanish.

OLAS offers immigrant students structured opportunities to share experiences, gain new knowledge and skills, and build relationships that promote positive social behaviors.

OLAS is made possible with support from:
bulletDC Mayor’s Office on Latino Affairs
bulletDC Department of Human Services Early Care and
  Education Administration

Other partners include:
bullet DC Public Schools Office of Bilingual Education
bullet Latin American Youth Center
bullet Bell Multicultural High School

"High schools are a crucial intervention point
for equality because that's where children's paths diverge -- some go on to lives of accomplishment and privilege; others to lives
of frustration, joblessness, and jail."

--Bill Gates, Philanthropist
