Community Partnerships for Youth began as a summer program, but with the help of WAVE has developed into something much larger. . As a prevention organization, CPY provides out-of-school hours programming for middle school students. Now in its 15th year of operations, CPY provides safe and positive alternatives to drugs, crime, and violence.
The program offers afterschool tutorial and enrichment programs, as well as a day intersession during the summer school breaks. In addition to job and life skills training, CPY students are exposed to wide range of developmental opportunities. Whether it be art, athletics, or field trips, students are encouraged to explore positive alternatives to risky behaviors.
WAVE provides direct leadership training to middle grade students who are assisting the staff, and staff development training for the professional and para-professional staff.
