Invest In Opportunity Campaign

A contribution to the campaign is the best way to make the greatest impact on WAVE and the communities we serve.

The Honorable John E. "Buck" Chapoton chairs the Invest In Opportunity campaign with the active involvement of a committee of leaders from business, education, and government.

Together they set a goal of $2.5 million to advance WAVE's work. With your generosity, WAVE will:

Make WAVE's programs, training, and services available
in up to 50 communities across the country, serving
4,000 to 5,000 at-risk young people each year

Permit the free distribution of all of WAVE's curricula
and training materials on the Internet, making those
resources available to countless more communities,    schools, professionals, and young people

bullet Provide college scholarships for deserving WAVE youth
who complete high school and are ready to pursue
   college

bullet  Ensure financing is available for the research and
development required to design and implement the
National Youth Opportunity Leadership Association, a
nationwide youth membership organization focused on
leadership, citizenship, and on-the-job success. WAVE
intends to rival the street gangs that youth might
    otherwise join.

“Imagine if tomorrow we learned that nearly a third of our nation's children would contract a chronic disease that would debilitate them for a lifetime. The public outcry for a national response would be deafening. The White House and Congress would act, and millions would be raised to treat the victims and find a cure.

Nearly one third of our children do have a debilitating condition and thousands more are at risk. The nation has a crisis, and it is being ignored at our peril. Yet there is a proven way to successfully address it! That is why I support WAVE."
