Kathleen joined WAVE in 2005 as a lead grant writer and program developer. She is responsible for developing relationships with individual, foundation, corporate, and government partners. She directs and supports projects related to fundraising, public relations, government relations, and marketing strategies. She coordinates training events, meetings, and conferences. She also works with schools and community based organizations to develop new programs and support existing programs.
Kathleen graduated from Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Arts in Policy Studies, specializing in Health, Human Service, and Education Policy, as well as French. While at Syracuse University, she served as a teaching assistant for an introductory policy studies course; an assistant in a bi-lingual kindergarten in Strasbourg, France; and was a tutor at an after-school program in Syracuse. Following graduation, Kathleen taught English in Bangkok, Thailand for one year, and traveled extensively throughout Southeast Asia.
