Internships at WAVE are an exciting opportunity to learn new skills in a fast-paced, challenging environment WAVE could be the perfect match if you are interested in working gaining experience at a national non-profit and becoming part of the solution to the nation's dropout crisis.
As a WAVE intern, you can expect to:
Write reports on program progress
Research, prioritize, and catalog potential funders
Attend forums and national briefings on youth policy
Research and summarize legislation
Represent WAVE at meetings and networking activities
Assist with youth leadership workshops
Write appeals, letters of inquiry, and grant proposals
Write letters and information pieces
Assist with the design and layout of materials
Manage tasks related to events
Support communications systems and databases
Edit extensively
Perform various administrative duties—going to the bank/ printer/Post Office/Capitol Hill, faxing, copying, and typing.
A sense of humor and a willingness to work hard are essential. Applicants must also be:
Pursuing an AB, BA, or MA or be recent graduates with a
Bachelor's or Master's Degree
Interested in the nonprofit sector
Excellent communicators, both written and orally
Strong researchers
Detail-oriented and organized
Comfortable with internet and MS Office applications
Able to work both independently and as part of a team
Full-time, paid internship positions are available during the summer for undergraduate and graduate students through the Everett Public Service Internship Program. Apply directly to WAVE for these positions by March 15.
Full-time or part-time unpaid positions are available year-round and you may apply any time. Hours during the school year can be negotiated. Please indicate in your cover letter which semester(s) you are available for an internship.
