Estefani Rondon joined WAVE in August 2007 to lead student outreach, program coordination, and curriculum development for OLAS, a leadership development program which focuses on serving Latino newcomers and former newcomers at Bell Multicultural High School and Lincoln Middle School in Washington D.C.
Ms. Rondon was born in Lima, Peru. At the age of nine, she moved to the Washington, D.C. area, where she attended 6 different public schools and struggled with the English language. She now speaks English fluently and has learned to speak conversational French and Portuguese.
Ms. Rondon is a graduate of Trinity University in Washington, D.C. Throughout college she worked full time in the non-profit sector with several organizations helping to empower Latino youth to achieve success through pursuing higher education and joining the professional workforce.
