Deborah manages WAVE’s partnerships with corporations, foundations, and government agencies, leads WAVE’s development and marketing strategy, and conducts special events.
Before joining WAVE in 2000, Deborah was Campaign and Communications Manager and Team Leader for the Combined Federal Campaign of the National Capital Area and has led workplace campaigns, public events, and volunteer training programs for United Way of Middle Tennessee and United Way of the Texas Gulf Coast. She has also served as a consultant to nonprofit organizations seeking to improve public relations and development programs.
Deborah has also served in roles responsible for field operations, volunteer management, and overall campaign management for candidates for national public office. She has extensive training and volunteer work in youth peer counseling, referral, and substance abuse prevention, and she has served as Chair of an Endowment in Alexandria, Virginia that provides college scholarships.
Deborah received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Vanderbilt University and a Master of Public Policy degree from Georgetown University.
